About

I’m the Engineering Foundation Group Manager at Microsoft Research Asia. Essentially, my team is the engine room that fuels innovation throughout the lab. I have the privilege of leading a talented group of research engineers, technical program managers, and UX experts. Our core mission is to establish a solid, shared engineering foundation that allows all our researchers to accelerate their groundbreaking work.

The rise of Large Language Models has really underscored the importance of robust engineering fundamentals, and my team is at the forefront of tackling fascinating challenges in data-centric engineering. We’re reimagining how we design and build, and we’re focused on making our foundational research systems smarter, safer, and even more energy-efficient.

Before joining Microsoft, I spent over eight years at IBM, where I began my career and eventually became an engineering lead for the IBM Rational Product. After eight years as a hands-on developer there, I transitioned into technical program management. First at Microsoft Skype for Business and Hulu Recommendation, and later in Microsoft Business AI.

I’m personally very interested in exploring emerging technologies, and I’m particularly excited to continue delving into the world of AI.

On the academic side, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS).
