About

Amanda leads the global public policy team within Microsoft’s Office of Responsible AI, advancing effective and interoperable policies that help Microsoft, our customers, and the world secure the benefits and establish guardrails to address the risks of AI. She also serves on the Partnership on AI Policy Steering Committee and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Expert Group on AI Risk & Accountability. Amanda previously led Microsoft’s Global Cybersecurity Public Policy team. Prior to joining Microsoft, Amanda focused on technology law and policy issues at Indiana University’s Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research, the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Cyber Affairs, and Google. She was also a fellow of the Eric T. Werner Global Cybersecurity Policy Advancement Exchange Program in China. Amanda has a BS in Journalism and International Studies from Northwestern University, an MSc in Forced Migration from the University of Oxford, and a JD from Indiana University.
